It appears the strength in the fourth quarter has carried over into the current (first) quarter in all three locations. Macao We're happy to see the strong top-line performance in both Macao locations, even if Wynn Palace's adjusted EBITDAR came up a tad bit short. Total adjusted EBITDAR of $297 million (Wynn Palace and Wynn Macao added together) represents about 85% of Wynn's pre-Covid fourth quarter 2019 level of $348 million in the Chinese special administrative region. Breaking that down, Wynn Palace was still a bit further ahead in its recovery but Wynn Macao is quickly gaining ground. In 2019, Wynn Macao generated $170 million in fourth quarter adjusted EBITDAR.

New York CNN —Friday morning in Las Vegas saw labor peace, and not a threatened strike along the Strip, as the Culinary union has reached its third tentative labor deal in three days with a casino operator. Since that peak, rents in Las Vegas have come down slightly, following national trends, and the typical rent in the city was $1,808 in September of this year. Overall, the city has about 150,000 hotel rooms, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. It also eliminated a lower tier of pay for many union members and gave bigger pay hikes to some part-time workers. And about 15,000 union members have been waging a series of set-duration on-and-off strikes against 65 hotels in Los Angeles and Orange counties in California since July 4.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Thousands of hotel workers fighting for new union contracts rallied on the Las Vegas Strip on Wednesday evening, halting rush-hour traffic before dozens were arrested for sitting in the street. Las Vegas police said 58 people were cited for assembling to disturb the peace, a misdemeanor. Leaders of the Culinary Workers Union said they wanted a show of force ahead of any potential strike. As the protest began, Kimberly Dopler, a cocktail server at Wynn Las Vegas since it opened in 2005, said she planned to halt traffic. A Las Vegas strike deadline has not yet been set as the union and casino companies return to the bargaining table this week.

That approach was reflected Thursday in a series of media interviews conducted by Reddit CEO and co-founder Steve Huffman. In response, some moderators have vowed to put pressure on Reddit’s advertisers and investors. Some 100,000 forums remain open, the company said in a blog post, including 80% of its 5,000 most actively engaged subreddits. Despite the already strong gain for the stock, analyst Brandt Montour thinks the casino operator remains "under appreciated by the market." And the company's Las Vegas business remains strong, Montour noted. It appears the miss could be attributed to individual wealthy gamblers frequenting Wynn Palace at the expense of Wynn Macao, which historically is more exposed to groups and tours. Las Vegas Wynn Las Vegas continues to post big results, generating an all-time record adjusted EBITDAR of $231.6 million. There may be a lot of talk out there about a pullback in consumer spending, but it isn't showing up at Wynn Las Vegas. On a hold normalized basis, Wynn Las Vegas' EBITDAR margins expanded 300 basis points year-over-year and 1,400 basis points from the first quarter of 2019.
